October 16, 2008. The regular monthly board meeting was called to order by Chariperson Paul Toft. The minutes of the September 11, 2008 meeting were read by the clerk. Minutes approved as read. Notice of the meeting was posted in the Rice Lake Chronotype as well as the Town Shop.
Treasurer’s report was given. $110,000 CD to be renewed for another 3 monthes.
Road report was given. Cracksealing done and culverts were replaced on 26th Avenue. Clint submitted quotes for a new mower tractor. Quotes will continue to be collected and discussion on a new mower tractor will be at a later date. Roger Britton requested snow fence on 14 ½ Street. Snow piles will be placed as a wind block this winter.
Bob Moe was in attendance to report on Bear Lake level. Dale Hanson from Barron County is researching the proper level of the lake. Bear Lake level will eventually be raised for ease in navigation as well as fish habitat.
Brian Spangler reported on Butternut Lake Aeration project. A Butternut Lake Association is in the hopes of being established and they will be the responsible party.
A request was made by Robert Wenzel for a sanitation permit to move a holding tank. Chairperson Paul Toft signed the permit.
First reading of the Ordinance For Alternative Claims Procedure was done. The second and final reading will be at the November meeting.
