April 12, 2011 April 2011 Meeting Minutes
April 12, 2011. The regular monthly board meeting was called to order by Chariperson Paul Toft. The minutes of the March 15, 2011 meeting were read by the clerk. Minutes approved as read. Notice of the meeting was posted in the Rice Lake Chronotype, Town Web page as well as the Town Shop. All members present .
Treasurer’s Report was given. 100k will be moved from the money market fund and invested into a 6 month cd.
Road report was given. Possible sale of the old town truck will be on the May agenda. Road review meeting was set for April 26, 2011 at 9am.
The 2nd reading of the amended Housing Inspection Ordinance was read by Steve Schultz. A motion was made by Dennis Willger to accept the amended ordinance. Steve Schultz seconded the motion and the motion passed/
Louis Willger was present to give an update on the fire department as well as request permission for the Bear Lake Haugen Fire Department to purchase a new fire truck. A FEMA grant awarded to the department will pay for the majority of the truck leaving a balance of approximately $12k. A motion was made by Dennis Willger and was seconded by Steve Schultz to approve the purchase with the understanding that the chief will report back with final costs when all is known. The motion was carried. New radios were purchased also with the help of a county grant that paid for 85% of the cost. One more grant is being applied for the update the pagers and pager system to comply with the new radio system.
Lake Area Sanitation requested to exceed posted weight limits. A motion was made by Steve Schultz to allow the request. Dennis Willger seconded the motion. The motion as carried and the letter was signed and sent back to Lake Area Sanitation acknowledging the approval.
